Bishounen Tanteidan Episode 8

An unknown sender delivers a massive oshie-hagoita (wooden paddle with a brocade image) to the Pretty Boy Detective Club headquarters, a previous art room. In Bishounen Tanteidan Episode 8, the boys realize that the sender was Kodaki Kawaike, Nagahiro’s young fiancée and a first-year student at Yubiwa Academy. So naturally, the Detective Club members regard Kodaki as a devil despite her attractive appearance.

Mayumi stole the show in this episode with her many humorous encounters with the other lads, especially with Michiru. She makes it funnier right away by giving everyone nicknames except Nagahiro due to seniority. However, she keeps the title “Pedo Dude” waiting in the wings just in case for Nagahiro.

Mayumi gets most of the responsibilities this time. It is because she was more adamant about settling the hagoita case. However, the other guys were focusing more on planning their winter camp. Moreover, they are probably aware of Manabu’s rejection of her bid to join them, given how quiet or cryptic they are about Kodaki’s displeasure. With that in mind, obtaining a request to learn how to change her voice for the case is complex. This is especially true considering Nagahiro’s additional requirement of befriending Kodaki.

Final thoughts

What makes the hagoita interesting in Bishounen Tanteidan Episode 8 is how it links in with the cases. They are all innocent mysteries that eventually explode into a high-stakes free-for-all. In this situation, how Kodaki could make or transport a hagoita to the clubroom can quickly devolve into ensuring that one of the detectives may attempt to reach an agreement with her.
